About COREu

About COREu

COREu is the largest research and innovation project in the field of carbon capture and storage (CCS) funded by a European programme with the aim of accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future by aiming more specifically for a reduction of 6.8 Mt/year of CO2 by 2035 and 36 Mt/year by 2050. This is achieved by demonstrating key technologies for the entire CCS value chain in Europe. The project aims to develop new demonstration projects connecting CO2 sources with potential storage sites.

Context

Context

The project is based on the basic concept of CCS, that is, the process of capturing waste carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere or from the production of energy or industrial plants and its subsequent transport to sites for the next use or in geological formations for storage.

Vision & Mission

Vision & Mission

Our vision is accelerating the deployment of CCS at gigatonne scale for net-zero emissions by 2050.

Our mission is to form support organizations and sustainability journey, demonstrate disruptive technologies and generate new impactful ideas felt through the supply chain to the consumer.
