In January 2025, Glass Futures, a key project partner, participated in the CO₂ Capture Connect conference held in Pau, France. The event was organized and sponsored by Pôle AVENIA and [Genesis](https://www.genesisenergies.com/. It featured insightful keynotes on CO₂ capture technologies and thought-provoking panel discussions on business models and regulatory frameworks essential for advancing Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) in Europe.
During this event, the COREu Emission Reduction Alliances (ERAs) were prominently represented. These alliances are integral to the COREu project, aiming to strengthen CCS value chains at both regional and EU levels. By fostering collaboration, driving investment, and advocating for supportive policies, the ERAs are pivotal in advancing CCS deployment across Europe. In their presentation, Glass Futures emphasized the value creation and development of regional CCUS clusters. These clusters, connected to European CO₂ transport and storage infrastructure, will enable cross-border cooperation across regions.
Major Milestone: The Launch of the South West Europe ERA
At the workshop in Pau, we celebrated the formation of the South West Europe ERA, led by Pôle AVENIA. This alliance will be formed by stakeholders from France, Spain, and Portugal, representing a crucial cross-border collaboration key to enabling CCS cooperation across regions.
The concept of regional ERAs across Europe generated huge interest from stakeholders, leading to numerous follow-up discussions organized to delve deeper into our presentation.
Join Us in Driving Change
Joining the ERAs offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of CCS deployment in Europe, connect with industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators, and gain access to exclusive insights, research, and funding opportunities. The ERAs are open to industrial CO₂ emitters, CCS technology providers, policymakers, trade bodies, and NGOs committed to building a sustainable, low-carbon future.
