CO2 transfer and injection systems demonstration

The objective of this pilot is to allow the transfer of CO2 from transport vessels to a direct injection system, with or without intermediate storage.

Concept 1

The first concept focuses on the transfer of CO2 between a carrier and an offshore injection unit with temporary storage tanks at a pressure of 7-15 bar and on the definition of the necessary process components to support the CO2 transfer operation safely and reliably.

Concept 2

The second concept concerns the transfer of CO2 at high pressures: high pressure may require specific process components to ensure safe and reliable transfer. this concept also allows the transfer of CO2 between a carrier and an offshore injection unit without temporary storage.

Concept 3

The third concept concerns direct injection using a bow transfer system of CO2 on board the CO2 carrier together with a seabed revolving injection system. Also such concept is designed for high pressure (100-300 bar).

Concept 4

The fourth concept also concerns high-pressure direct injection, but in this case, the CO2 carrier is designed to connect to a disconnectable turret, to increase flexibility during direct injection operations.
