Oslo, Norway – June 10, 2024 – At the esteemed 85th EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition, Francesco Finotti, Senior Business Developer at SINTEF, unveiled the innovative COREu project.

Finotti’s presentation emphasized the COREu project’s comprehensive approach to CCS, highlighting the collaboration among over 40 partners, including emitters, technology providers, gas transmission system operators, transportation companies, research institutes, and universities. "COREu is designed to ensure a comprehensive demonstration of the CCS value chain and to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience across Europe,” Finotti stated.

He also discussed the project’s significant impact on reducing CO2 emissions and supporting the European Union’s commitment to climate neutrality and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. "By demonstrating key technologies and opening up new CCS routes, COREu will contribute to the development of CCS at scale and pave the way for a greener and more resilient Europe,” he added.

The EAGE Conference, held in Oslo from June 9-14, 2024, attracted over 6,000 participants, providing a significant platform for SINTEF to showcase its leadership in CCS and CO2 storage. Finotti’s presentation was a highlight of the event, drawing attention to the innovative efforts of SINTEF and its partners in advancing sustainable energy solutions.
